Q: Is my personal data secure?

Yes! The National Asset Register is a fully secure online platform. All information on you and your assets is kept in the strictest of confidence and according to best-practice information protection mechanisms.

The National Asset Registry does not require your SSN or drivers license data. You control the amount of information both personal and asset related you wish to maintain on the system.

Q: What does it cost - is it really FREE?

Access to the National Asset Register is free and you can upload as many assets as you wish for no cost. We don't charge for bandwidth, hosting or the number of assets uploaded. It is all provided to you for free.

The only costs associated are related to the purchase of DotGuard Home Protection asset identification labels that you may elect to purchase at any time. Details of these programs are available from the website and participation is completely optional. We do however recommend that you purchase ID labels for better protection and identification of your assets.

Q: Will the data help with insurance claims?

Definitely. The fact that you can prove your ownership of an asset and all the details related to its purchase will save you time when filing any claim. Insurance details can be added for each asset uploaded.

Q: Do police have access to my data?

No. When police find an asset marked linked to the National Asset Registry using your unique Asset Id labels, they will typically contact us to report that an asset has been found and ownership needs verification. At this time we will contact you and put you directly in touch with the police handling your matter.

No person other than yourself has access to your data.

Q: What are DotGuard Home Protection identification labels and how do they help?

DotGuard Home protection identification labels are unique asset labels each containing a unique personal identification number (Asset Id Code). When you purchase the labels you will be assigned your own unique Asset Id Code which will allow you to uniquely mark all your assets quickly and simply with your own secure Id code. Asset codes on each label allow you to uniquely identify each asset. So within the National Asset Register you can identify that asset code 10 (for example) has been placed on your cell-phone. You determine what codes you use on each asset and simply record that code along side the asset in the National Register.

In addition to the PIN and asset codes on each label, the label also indicates that your assets are registered in the National Asset registry and so if lost or stolen can be identified and returned. A web address provides police a link back to the National Asset Register if they find one of your assets.

All assets can be quickly and easily labeled. This includes cell phones, laptops, vehicles, cameras, antiques, artwork and lots more. No chemicals, no messy adhesives, just a simple peel and stick application. DotGuard labels also have enhanced tamper resistance, 2D data matrix coding, and are heat resistant up to 500 degrees.

Q: Can I use the National Asset Register for my business?
